Svanhildur Egilsdóttir
I’m a wildlife photographer living in Iceland.
I was born and raised in a small village in close relationship with nature. I’m a biologist, and during most of my career I have been studying the life in the sea. I see great opportunities in using photography for research, such as for identification and to document the changes in nature.
My opinion is that the connection between people and nature in modern society is something that needs to be strengthened. One way is to show the nature through images, bringing the beauty of landscapes and wildlife to our computer screens and into our regular lives. I have a MSc degree in Biological Photography and Imaging from  University of Nottingham.
I am member of the Icelandic Professional Photographers Association.
